Fusomail vs YAMM: Google Sheets add-on or web app?

YAMM (Yet Another Mail Merge) lives inside Google Sheets. Fusomail is a web app that reads your CSV or Excel file directly. Both send from your own Gmail. YAMM may suit you better if

Your list already lives in Google Sheets and you want to stay there.
Each person needs a different attachment, such as their own certificate or invoice.
You want open, response and bounce tracking on every plan.
You send a lot on personal Gmail: its paid plan lists 400 recipients a day and no monthly cap, up to 12,000 in 30 days.

Fusomail may suit you better if

Your list is an Excel or CSV file, and you would rather not move it into Google Sheets.
You want to pay by the month: YAMM Pro is billed once a year.
You want your addresses checked before you send (Starter and up).
You want your SPF, DKIM, DMARC and wording checked before each campaign (Starter and up).
You want an app that asks Google only for permission to send.

How each one works

YAMM

YAMM is a Google Sheets add-on: you install it from the Google Workspace Marketplace and send from a spreadsheet. SourceTracking results are written back into the same sheet. Source

Fusomail

Fusomail is a separate web app. You upload a CSV or Excel file, and contacts, templates, the suppression list and each campaign’s results all live in your workspace rather than in a spreadsheet.

Is YAMM cheaper than Fusomail?

In some places, yes. In US dollars (the US, UK, Canada, Australia and other listed countries), Fusomail Starter ($70) costs $2 a year less than YAMM Pro gmail.com ($72). Can Fusomail attach a different file for each person, like YAMM?

Not today. In Fusomail a campaign’s files go to everyone in it. For a file that differs per person, put its link in a column of your list and use the column as a merge field. YAMM attaches a different Google Drive file for each person on every plan.

Can I use Fusomail instead of YAMM without Google Sheets?

Yes. Fusomail reads a .csv or .xlsx file directly, so nothing has to live in a Google Sheet. YAMM works from a sheet, and its own guide for Excel files starts by importing the file into Google Sheets.
